• Classes are open to all Oakland University students and the general public (18 years +).
  • Aiki-jujutsu at Oakland University is a student sponsored club devoted to training in the traditional Japanese martial art of Hakuho Ryu Aikibudo, which is based on the techniques of Daito Ryu Aiki-jujutsu and Ono-ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu.
  • Aiki-jujutsu is a system that blends with the energy of an attack rather than blocks, which makes it a practical defense for men and women of all ages and sizes. The system utilizes joint locks and controls instead of excessive force, making Aiki-jujutsu a good defense system for our litigious society.
  • This martial art was refined throughout the centuries in medieval and modern day Japan and includes some of the last formal techniques studied by the samurai. It is also the predecessor of modern day Aikido.
  • All new students receive a free 2 week trial period to evaluate the class with no obligation. To continue training after that period, lessons are $20/month for OU students and $35/month for non-OU students. No contracts required.

Training is held at the Oakland University Rec Center

Mon and Wed 7:00-9:00pm, Sat 11:00am-1:00pm
